Hi, I’m Nick. I’m a software engineer based in San Diego, building secure, backend-heavy web applications.

I currently work at Moebius Solutions, where I’m a core developer on HARPs, a document and workflow management platform for the U.S. Navy. My work has included leading a 10 million record migration to PostgreSQL, building an Excel import/export framework for bulk data workflows, and improving delivery speed through reusable Flask/SQLAlchemy tooling. I also hold an active U.S. DoD Secret clearance.

One of my strengths is that I can work across a lot of different areas, including backend systems, databases, internal tools, and AI-assisted workflows. I bring a strong security mindset shaped by regulated government work, and I’m especially effective where teams need someone who can ship quickly, reduce operational risk, and keep maintainability and security from becoming tradeoffs.

That combination is especially relevant for owner-led hormone and wellness clinics that have grown past simple spreadsheets and manual follow-up, but are not large enough to justify an internal product team. I can help build the internal tools, workflow automations, data systems, and patient communication infrastructure that make recurring care easier to run well, and my experience in regulated U.S. Navy environments translates naturally to healthcare settings where reliability, privacy, and operational discipline matter. Just as importantly, this kind of work aligns with what I find meaningful: using software to support better health, stronger families, and real improvements in people’s lives, which I’ve written more about in this post My Journey Understanding the Purpose of Life.

This site is organized for hiring teams and prospective clients who want a fast view of my background. Start with the projects page for implementation examples, review the skills page for my current stack, or open the resume for a concise summary.

I’m open to discussing software engineering roles, contract work, and freelance engagements. Thanks for stopping by my website!
